Sanford Children's Specialty Clinic
Stacy Peters, PharmD is a clinical pharmacist with Sanford Children's Specialty Clinic and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at South Dakota State University. Stacy Peters received her Doctor of Pharmacy from South Dakota State University in 2004, followed by a one-year Pharmacy Practice Residency at Sanford USD Medical Center. During this time she became involved with the South Dakota Cystic Fibrosis Center located at Sanford Childrens Specialty Clinic, Sioux Falls, SD. In 2005 she accepted a joint position between Sanford USD Medical Center and Sanford Childrens Specialty Clinic. Her focus was developing a CF clinical research program which led to the center being accredited as a TDN Center in 2009. In 2007 she accepted a position with the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, which is a joint position between SDSU and Sanford Childrens Specialty Clinic. In addition to outpatient and inpatient care, Dr. Peters plays an instrumental role overseeing research at the SD CF Center. She has served on the CFF TDN Protocol Review Committee and the CFF CFTR Guideline Development Committee. Dr. Peters is actively involved with the CFF Minnesota/Dakotas chapter and speaks at numerous community and healthcare venues in the field of CF. In 2011, Dr. Peters was awarded the South Dakota Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year for her innovation in the profession of pharmacy. In 2022, Dr. Peters received the CFF Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter award for Outstanding CF Advocate. Additionally, Dr. Peters is the vice president and cofounder of Breathe Bravely, NPO which connects patients with CF to professional vocalists to promote wellbeing throught the act of singing.
