Children's National Hospital
Carol Chace, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C, LCSWC-Certified Pediatric and Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program Social Worker, received a masters degree in social work from the University of Maryland in 1992, and is employed at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. Carol is working with the CF population in the outpatient and inpatient settings. She is an active trainer in the Partnership Enhancement Program, PEP @ CFF, and is training care teams across the country in communication skills designed to increase trust and improve communications with peaple living with CF. The PEP team recently published an article regarding their work in the Journal of Patient Experience, April 2022. Her work with the CFF includes organizing information regarding insurance for adult patients, participation in a webinar regarding insurance, and more recently has participated in the Adult Quality Improvement program of the Learning and Leadership collaborative. She is co leading the SW Mentoring program for 14 years and leading a Mental Health consultation group for colleagues. Carol collaborates with the DC Metro CFF as a Board Member and collaborates with parent partners and colleagues conducting virtual support communities, CF CARES in English/Spanish. She was recently honored by the DC Metro Board with a Core Values Award for the CF CARES groups. Carol has mentored many social workers beginning in CF, and has presented work at local and national conferences regarding collaboration with patients & caregivers living with cystic fibrosis and their care teams.
