Abby completed a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013 at University of Vermont. Abby has been a pediatric physical therapist for 10 years, working in a number for different settings, to give her a good perspective on child development and different models of care. Abby joined the cystic fibrosis team in 2017 and has developed the program at the Children’s Hospital Colorado. Abby is involved in numerous quality improvement initiatives to improve the quality of care for patients with CF as it relates to gross motor development, bone mineral density, GI management, and group therapy in collaboration with psychology. She integrates her skills as a restorative and vinyasa yoga instructor into her treatments to provide a holistic approach to rehabilitation, as well as Mary Massery techniques to address the musculoskeletal system to optimize airway clearance. She has a strong foundation in pediatrics, orthopedic, and foot management skills. She was as an instructor for Beam CF Youth, a camp counselor, and a college athlete, which have been invaluable in promoting exercise and improving the quality of life for people with CF.
