Hoyeol Kim, PhD is a postdoctoral scientist in the Department of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He has been trained in multidisciplinary fields including materials, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering while applying them to the design and manufacturing of materials. His multi-year experiences and expertise in 3D modeling and 3D printing technology gained during his PhD study have been further extended to the biomedical field. His research goal centers around the design and development of patient-derived human organs and microfluidic-based organ-on-a-chip to provide a valuable preclinical tool for pathophysiology studies as well as drug responses and efficacies in a highly personalized manner. He is currently a recipient of CFF Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.
