Joy Clymer, a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor, is a Behavior Health Specialist in the Pediatric Specialties practice of Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. In this position, she operates as the Mental Health Coordinator for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Core Clinic at Reilly Children’s Hospital. Joy has experience treating interpersonal trauma, trafficking survivors, and medical trauma.
Joy is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner and a Making Sense of Your Worth (MSOYW) Facilitator. TBRI and MSOYW are evidence-based trauma interventions designed to address trauma by improving attachment, self-efficacy, and self-worth. Joy implements TBRI and MSOYW in her role to address medical trauma which improves family relationships, behavioral disruption, and treatment compliance.
Joy holds a certificate in Global Trauma Recovery from the Global Trauma Recovery Institute. She has extensive international experience which has honed her cultural competence and ability to apply models across varying milieu.
Joy is active in her faith community and volunteers as a survivor’s counselor for VAST, a united movement in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania to empower survivors of commercial exploitation.
