Wanda K. O'Neal, PhD, is Research Professor at the Marsico Lung Institute/Cystic Fibrosis Center, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She serves as Director of the Molecular Biology Core and Co-Director of the Animal Models Core. She has been involved directly in CF research since her graduate studies at Baylor College of Medicine where she conducted genetic studies on CF, developed mouse models, and was involved in gene transfer studies. Her research focus now includes the molecular underpinnings of CF at a cellular level. Additionally, she has been involved with the Genetic Modifiers Consortium and has served as co-Chair of the Path-to-a-Cure Study Section for the CFF. She now serves on the NACFC program planning committee.
